Be sure that all the equipment you will be using is in good working order and that you bring all manuals, specific power adapters, patches, disks etc... that you may need

Set unrealistic targets for the session e.g.

Trying to record and mix too many songs in too little time

Expecting to produce a chart quality mix in one day. Most chart songs take 2 wks to record and mix

Forget to book your drumkit or any amplifiers needed for the session, well in advance of the session starting

Have people 'hanging around' the studio if they are not part of the recording process or a member of the band, as they may hinder your work rate
